Revealing our favourite and secret places in the Algarve is not that easy, but as they are so much worth seeing we have decided to share our secrets with you . 

You may have already read about our 20 best beaches in the Algarve, but if you are looking for more isolated and unique ones here are our 7 very secret beaches hidden between the golden cliffs of Algarve.

Located in Lagoa e Carvoeiro, near Porches, praia do Barraquinho beach is our favourite secret beach in the Algarve. This secret cove is a real little paradise, nestled in Mediterranean vegetation and sheltered by high cliffs. Do not forget to bring your diving mask with you and watch small fish around the rocks.

How to get to Barraquinho beach? Access is not too complicated or dangerous, it takes 5-10 minutes to walk, and it is really worth it. The easiest way is to park on the nearby Albandeira beach car park. Then take the path going to the right when you are facing the sea and walk along the coast for 5 to 10 minutes. You can’t possibly miss it : there’s a huge rock standing in the ocean opposite a small sandy beach.

The  beach is hidden somewhere in Carvoeiro and is irresistible! Praia do Paraiso, (paradise beach) deserves its name This cove is within easy reach: there’s a long staircase down to the cliff. At high tide the size of the beach is well reduced… Find a nice spot and enjoy a swim in crystal clear waters.

How to get to Paraiso beach? The beach is located near the main beach of Carvoeiro. There’s a parking lot  and the Mar d'Fora restaurant  above the beach, It is  a good choice for a meal with a view.

It was during a mountain bike ride on the Costa Vicentina that we discovered this secret beach, kept hidden by the very few  who had fallen in love with the place.

 The Costa Vicentina is certainly the most unspoiled and wild part of the Algarve. From Sagres to Aljezur the landscapes are worthy of Ireland and Brittany’s.

 If you like this place the Villa Sound of the Sea is the ideal starting point for exploring the Costa Vicentina.

Located in Porches, near our number 1 beach, this small beach offers an idyllic setting, located in the middle of a natural area between Porches and Carvoeiro. In season a beach bar offers refreshments.

If you walk on the coastal path between our apartment in Porches and Benagil, Praia de Albandeira is an ideal stopover for a picnic : wooden tables are available.

Climb to the top of the cliff and discover the arch of Albandeira, sculpted by the sea ; at sunset the show  is great ! At low tide, you can get to a cove and admire the arch from nearer.

Praia da Salgadeira in Carvoeiro is probably the least accessible beach in our ranking, definitely the most secret one in the Algarve, and well worth discovering. Final access to the beach is a bit sporty : if you are a bit adventurous, climb down a  small wooden ladder and get to it : you can make the most of this well preserved corner of paradise.

At high tide the strip of sand is getting  narrower.

How to get to Salgadeira beach? Park your car in rua do Clube do Carvoeiro in Carvoeiro (see localization Google Maps). Then  head towards the sea and follow the coast to the right. Access to the beach is from the opposite side, walk along the beach from above before walking down

Please note that this sheltered beach is very popular among the nudist community.

Praia dos Tremoços Beach might seem private, but it is actually open to everyone. Part of it is well privatized by the magnificent Vila Vita Parc hotel, one of the most beautiful in the Algarve, but the beach is large enough for all

The beach is uncrowded because its access is a bit secret. Take the road to the entrance of Vila Lara hotel, walk on to the end of this road and follow a path down to the beach. Apart from the hotel guests, very few people know about Praia dos Tremoços.

Located just 500m from this beach our apartment with pool in the Algarve is an ideal place for your stay.

Praia do Carvalho beach in Lagoa is still one of the Algarve's secret beaches. This small beach is located between Porches and Carvoeiro ; a parking lot is nearby. The access to the beach is spectacular : walk through a tunnel  dug in the rock ; bring your video camera with you and  shoot  the very moment when you get to the next beach. The municipality of Lagoa has the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve.
